Prairie Street Brewing Co. is the oldest brewery building in the state of Illinois and a registered National Historic Landmark. Our location combines rich history with modern brewing techniques, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests.

What’s the history of Prairie Street Brewing Co.?

The Prairie Street Brewing Co. building was originally established in 1849, making it the oldest brewery building in Illinois. After sitting unused for several decades, it was revitalized and reopened as Prairie Street Brewing Co. in 2013, preserving its historical charm while serving the community with fresh, craft beers. Neutrality Statement

Prairie Street Brewing Company was founded to create a place for relaxation, enjoyment, and a safe place to come together as a community. As such, we believe it is our responsibility to remain politically neutral in all matters of party politics. PSB does not endorse, support, or promote any political parties, candidates or elected government officials unless it is deemed to fit with the cultural standards of the company and the owners, or it is a community-wide event.

What types of beer do you offer?

We offer a rotating selection of craft beers brewed in-house, including everything from crisp lagers to rich stouts and IPAs. You can view our current taplist and upcoming releases on our website or visit us at the brewpub. We also offer cans, bottles, crowlers, growlers, and kegs of most of our beer for take-home.

Can I buy beer to go?

Yes! We offer cans, bottles, crowlers, growlers, and kegs of most of our beer. Head to our host stand to purchase or contact us for more info.

Do you have any non-alcoholic or gluten-free options?

We brew our own root beer in-house and offer a variety of spirit-free options, including NA cocktails. For gluten-free options, most of our beer is made with gliadin, which reduces gluten content but does not make the beer 100% gluten-free. We also list which beers contain lactose. Check out our current taplist for gluten-reduced options.

Do you offer food at Prairie Street Brewing Co.?

Yes! We offer a delicious food menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. Both our brewpub and Dockside Taproom offer the same menu.

Do you offer vegetarian, plant-based, or gluten-free options?

Yes! We have a variety of vegetarian, plant-based, and gluten-free options on our menu. Our dedicated gluten-free fryers ensure a safe experience for those with dietary restrictions.

Do you have protocols in place for food allergies?

Yes, we take food allergies very seriously. We have protocols to minimize the risk of allergens. Ask your server for our allergen guide, which lists the top 9 allergens in our menu items. Our staff will make a note of any allergies, and the kitchen will sanitize all areas before preparing the dish to minimize contact.

What public events do you offer?

We host a variety of public events throughout the year, including live music, food features, beer and food pairing events, and Ale Yeah Yoga. Check our events calendar for upcoming events!

Can I bring my own chair to public events?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own chair to enjoy our outdoor public events.

Are kids allowed at Prairie Street Brewing Co.?

Yes, we are a family-friendly venue! Kids are welcome, and we offer a variety of non-alcoholic drinks and a kid-friendly menu.

Can I host an event at Prairie Street Brewing Co.?

Yes! We offer a beautiful space for weddings, life milestones, corporate gatherings, and more. Our event specialists will work with you from start to finish to ensure your event is seamless and memorable.

Do you offer wedding packages?

We offer comprehensive wedding packages that include event coordination, setup and takedown, a detailed timeline, vendor coordination, and more. Our event specialists will assist you with every detail to make your day perfect!

How far in advance should I book my event?

We recommend booking your event as early as possible to secure your preferred date. However, we are very flexible and have a variety of event spaces, so we will do our best to accommodate your planning timeline.

Do you allow outside catering for private events?

We require the use of our in-house catering. We offer a wide variety of menu options, but you are welcome to bring in outside cakes or sweets for your event. If you have any questions, please reach out to our event coordinators to discuss your options.

Can I use my own vendors for private events?

We have a list of preferred vendors that we have worked with and highly recommend. However, you are welcome to use vendors off our list, though we do encourage you to consider our trusted partners.

Is there parking available at Prairie Street Brewing Co.?

Yes! We have three dedicated, well-lit parking lots on our property, ensuring convenient and guaranteed parking for our guests.

Do you have gas available at the marina?

Yes, gas is available seasonally, typically from May to October. Head inside to the Dockside Taproom and ask the bartender for assistance with fueling up your boat.

Are there any open slips at the marina?

Our center dock closest to the stage is all open slip parking—except for Dinner on the Dock nights. During Dinner on the Dock, look for bright green ‘open slip’ parking spots, which are available free of charge. You can also reserve your slip in advance. Slip rentals are available for the entire season, but we offer prorated rentals if you rent later in the summer season.

Do you offer a yacht club membership?

Yes! The Prairie Street Yacht Club offers exclusive benefits to its members, including access to private events, dock discounts, and more. If you’re interested in becoming a member, please contact us for more details.

Can I rent a slip for a day or a season?

We primarily offer seasonal slip rentals, but day rentals may be available depending on availability and season. Please reach out to our marina team for more information on short-term rental options.

Are there any amenities available at the marina?

Our marina includes a full-service dock, restroom facilities, and access to our brewpub and Dockside Taproom. You can also enjoy live music from your boat or take beer and food to go.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! We offer gift cards that can be used for beer, food, and merchandise at Prairie Street Brewing Co. You can purchase gift cards in person at the brewpub or through our website for added convenience.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

For safety and licensing reasons, we do not allow outside alcohol to be brought onto the premises. We offer a wide variety of beers and other beverages for your enjoyment!

Do you allow pets?

Pets are welcome in our outdoor seating areas and on the docks, but please keep your furry friends on a leash. Service animals are always welcome throughout the venue.
